Alt X Volume Two (Handmade Zine)
Note: 25 cents AUD from EVERY copy of Alt X that is sold is donated directly to the Wikimedia foundation. This is:
- a) to compensate them for my rampant pillaging of their resources,
- b) to ease some of the crippling guilt that compounds every time you ignore Wikipedia’s polite plea for donations, and
- c) to ‘protect the human right to free and open knowledge for everyone.’
Alt X is a series of zines from Kofferdikapten Press, celebrating the depth and variety of human knowledge that is accessible for free if you just go looking for it. Articles are randomly generated by Wikipedia, then curated by me (hi) and embellished by hand using pen, paper, scissors, glue, a 1935 Corona-Smith typewriter, and various other messy, imperfect creative tools. Each zine is 16 pages of handmade art, scanned and reproduced in black and white (sans the cover on which I may dabble with colour). It is laser printed on 4 x A4 sheets of tinted 80gsm paper, all held together by the almighty strength of just two staples.
This is Volume Two.
